Dragon Mosaics |
|
You will need: | |
construction paper assorted papers (including some aluminum foil and foil-paper ones. Look for Xmas wrapping foil on clearance and also tissue paper on clearance) glue sticks |
googly eyes |
Instructions for pre-assembly:
Cut a dragon shape out of construction paper (Chinese-type dragon is great for older kids, and a simple "puff the magic dragon" shape is great for younger ones). (Here's a dragon image you can use.) Cut a huge number of 1/2 inch circles from a variety of paper. You might need 50 or so per child, depending on their enthusiasm for the project and their age and attention to detail. Or use sequins for older children. *

The point is to glue on the multi-colored scales to "clothe" the naked dragons. When finished with the scales, add eyes, tongue, even finger nails with gold metallic marking pens. Pretty spiffy for low cost and low skill-level.
